Catch Up

Here are a few recent paintings. These are all acrylics. One of them is a scene during a regatta off Gorumna Island in Connemara. Others explore a night time theme. Buttimer's, Market Dock and the red boat are Youghal subjects.

The Garage Youghal

An unusual feature of Youghal town is the garage outside the Devonshire Arms and near North Abbey.

About Connemara and Galway Hookers

Recently I was requested to return to the Connemara theme. A magical landscape of islands and sea, of rocks and of mountains. But what are most spellbinding are the boats.

A visit to Connemara

After all the lockdowns we managed to escape to Connemara, to far out Garumna. It was wonderful. I sketched each morning, something to be recommended. You feel so good afterwards. Funny enough not one of the sketches was painted further than 100 metres from the house. You don't have to go far!

Contemplating existence

Could not think of a title, but I suppose that's what you're doing when you paint life still in this way. Not saying you come to any conclusions though!

About the home and garden

I suppose the lockdown continues and for a lot of people the universe has shrunk. This may not be a bad thing. There is a fascination that can be found in the ordinary. Something to do with catching a moment, of something very ordinary. The way the light plays on a pipe, the light through a curtain in the morning, an old sweeping brush, light falling on some wooden steps. Ah go on!

Locked Up For Lockdown

Two more of that set and photos of window display.
